I think I’ll start to rewind all the times hat I had in Korea especially in Seoul to keep my self remember the stories that created from living abroad there.

I always like Mexican food. In Seoul, plenty of good Mexican restaurants especially in Itaewon area. The first time I tasted Mexican food was in Korea and started to like them. Having the real Mexican food in Mexican restaurant in America gave me another better experience. These are some pictures from my last visit to Mexican food (Tomatillo Itaewon). Too bad it was still cold, otherwise horchata would make it perfect. Had a visit of this place with a friend who is currently living in UK to find his passion of life (right? :P). It was closed with a cafe visit (of course).

LemonLemon

They say, lemon never failed.

Every morning, start your day with a lemon juice mix with water and honey (if you want it less sour). Drink it before you take anything after wake up (I know it is sour!). It is good for your gastric and skin. There are plenty more benefits of lemon that you may catch them from websites.

Plus, lemon also looks good on pictures 🙂 Enjoy your day!

수다 (Suda): A coffeeshop in Mullae art village

I’ve been to this Mullae art village district few times, and this time I found a nice coffeshop around there. An Indonesian Balinese artist introduced this place during his visit to Seoul for a collaboration artwork with Korean artists. I grabbed a time to see them, and really nice to know them.

The name is 수다 (Suda), when you go out from exit 7 of Mullae station (line 2), just go straight, this place is before the traffic light, you can find it easily. The owner of this coffeeshop is an artist, so imagine the place is a very unique. Price is good, coffees are good, and most important is the perfect atmosphere.

Tinny Home Made Ramen

It is Korea, but yes they do have ramen that most known Japan originated. Here in Korea they call in ramyeon (라면). I found this small tinny ramen corner where they serve home made style ramen. It is in Itaewon district. You just have to go to Seoul subway Itaewon station (line 6) exit 3, go straight and cross the traffic light, go straight again and pass the fire brigade station and a gas station, the place is just after that on the right side. Very small place but quite cute, plus the owner speaks English quite well and totally friendly.

They have most kind of ramen style, such as seafood ramen, kimchi ramen, mandu ramen, kimbab etc. You will get a big portion of ramen bowl that I couldn’t finish it by myself. You can ask them to make very spicy one or not at all. I ordered seafood ramen, and sure wanna go back there again. I’m suggesting not to come at lunch hour, people will be packed there and even make a que line since the place is very small. Place might tinny, but the portion and taste are huge.

Le Alaska: A charming bakery in Apgujoeng

Spending time in a coffee shop is probably one of my favorite things. With family, a friend(s), or just being alone, I am up for it. I do really enjoy the atmosphere in a coffee shop. In Seoul, there are many coffee shops (cafe) more than you expect, and the number is still climb up.

I spent my me time around Apgujeong area with one of my besties. Day was full with girls chitchat during lunch and second round in a coffee shop. It is Le Alaska, this place is more a bakery than a coffee shop, pretty old style of place that quite my kind. They make very beautiful breads and pastries, along with perfect taste. Nevertheless, they make good coffee as well with the size of a bowl. Indeed, I like!

Shabu-shabu, I like!

Do you think fresh food could always be associated with healthy food? I do believe. I am quite concern about having fresh food on daily especially for my daughter. It’s not easy tho’ cost more.

Do you think shabu-shabu is one kind of healthy foods? I hope so, because I crave for that anytime. Just ask me, and I’ll join you. Here in Korea, some of natives claim that shabu-shabu is their origin dish, but most of people or sources say it is Japanese. Who ever own it, thank you for having this dish.

I met some friends few days ago on weekend to have a dinner together, and it was SHABU -SHABU. I was very happy to see this course again. I don’t remember the last time I ate shabu-shabu.

If you are in Seoul, there are many shabu-shabu restaurant. The one that I visited was in sadang just behind the sadang station (line 2 or 4) exit 13. Shabu-shabu is quite pricey food, does it mean fresh food and healthy food correlate with costly food? The set that I ordered cost me around $20, and other places might cost less than that with more complete set, while normal eat daily in here cost less than $10. Well… tummy full, and I was happy. 🙂

Internet oh internet
