Summer 2016

It was August 2016, early of the month. We went to the famous island in Korea, Jeju island. It’s a refreshing time to spend time at the beach again.

Here are some pictures using Minolta X700.

Short trip to Ganghwado

It was golden weekend. Since the traffic usually crazy during long weekend, we used to spend it only inside the city. This time we tried to go out of Seoul just for a short trip somewhere out of the city. We planned to come to a small island by renting a car with another friend. We did have GPS, but still we got lost and spent too much time roaming around. We ended up in Ganghwa island (Gangwha-do), an island close to Incheon area.

Too bad the weather wasn’t friendly in the late afternoon, but overall trip was fun. We really enjoyed seafood there. Tanya loved the sunroof car. The west beaches of Korea around Incheon are type of muddy beach, so we couldn’t swim there. Those beaches are still quite fun for kids to play mud or playing with seagulls.

Golden weekend

So finally we met the golden weekend! Extra two days of monday and tuesday for holiday… I planned a trip a friend to go to south part of Korea but I withdrawed it at the end due to budget reason. Still we need to go somewhere at least for two days and one night.
On saturday we joined the Seoul city tour bus for an hour and 40 mins journey of Seoul panoramic view. I usually faced the sold out ticket, so this time I booked earlier through te website, and finally we ride on! The course wasn’t really impresses me because I want the double decker hop up, but this one was hop down. I should’ve choosen the market course to get the open air bus :(. Anyway next time…

Sunday thru monday we went to Gangneung, a small city 2.5 hours from Seoul by bus. But it was terrible! We got 5.5 hours on the road to reach Gangneung due to the traffic. The motion sickness was so terrible. Lucky we have our friends who offered their house for a stay and their car!!! Thank you so much Widhi and Randy~

Gangneung is famous for the beaches and we didn’t miss to visit one of them. Gyeongpo beach is the one that we visited, around 10 mins from our place we stay. Beach just remind me of my country, where Tanya doesn’t really know well yet. She hardly walk in the sand :)) To bad the weather was still cold, so no swimming.

And for dinner: of course shell, clams…

Too bad I couldn’t eat that well, the motion sickness is still messing me around 😦

Day two, we went to the Daegwallyeong Sheep Farm (대관령 양떼목장), about 30 km from Gangneung city. Again, lucky we had the car. We went there quite early just because we didn’t want to meet another traffic.
Anddd this place is sooo beautiful. That day was sooo windy and cold but the farm (kinda) was amazing. Tanya loves it, well loves the sheep more than the view.

If we came later, the que to enter the farm would be unbearable. Here we can touch the sheep, feed them, and of course taking pictures of the beautiful sceneries. I really want to go back there.

Our trip ended by taking bus back to Seoul at 6 in the afternoon. The journey was 6 hours! OMG, I felt like in hell… The motion sickness even more terrible than before. 6 hours without sleeping, only headache, dizzy, vomitted. So since then, I decided not to go out of city on golden weekend.

Overall, we had nice place to stay, and a car of course. Met the beach and best part was the sheep farm. I am happy for Tanya for loving the sheep farm eventho the journey was terrible for me.
